November 2016 Update
The wind breathes life into an ill-timed tumbleweed, the cotton blooms dictionary white, and we zoom in the direction of the week. Our brand new used Honda Odyssey (above), lovingly named Geoffrey Zeus Van, does 80 mph with ease. Geoffrey has leather seats, leftover snacks, loads of room for standup basses, and feels most comfortable at youth soccer matches. We are hoping that, to the passing thief, Geoffrey reeks of “Baby On Board” rather than expensive instruments and cash. We’re considering a sticker...
On October 3rd we made duo into trio, when we welcomed the low-playing, high-singing Hans Bilger into the fold. It’s been a hell of a month -- a new car and band member, old friends and new fans, California and Colorado, a fresh arsenal of recently written songs along the way. Needless to say, we love Hans, Geoffrey Zeus, and (some of) the new songs, but the highlight of this month is finding out how many of you love them too! Positive outside affirmations come at a premium for us in this funky freelance life.
The direction this week is Nashville. The task ahead is simple: to sit in a room for five days and make a time stamp of sound that will represent Odell Fox in the years to come. To make something that says, and feels, and moves. It’s very exciting! And daunting. But, exciting. We’re excited.
Following Nashville, we will be playing a week of shows in Oregon and Washington. Looking forward to seeing some of you flanneled folks out there!
With love and gratitude,
Jenner, Raph, and Hans
